In addition to the commitment as part of the FAIR (Fair Pricing Agreement in Retailing) programme, which was recently launched, Go mobile has announced a Euro Conversion facility by SMS.

Go mobile has proactively set up a system whereby mobile subscribers of any operator can get the EUR equivalent of any Lm denomination by sending an SMS to 79012008.

This service is very easy to use. Mobile subscribers just have to send an SMS to 79012008 with the numeric figure only and this will be converted to EUR by a return SMS. (For example Lm12.64 should be sent as 1264). The service is instantaneous and most of all, accurate.

“At Go mobile we recognise the need to offer such services to mobile subscribers. This will help facilitate the changeover process. To this effect the pricing of this new innovative service has been kept at a minimum whereby standard subscriber SMS rates will apply. In addition to the SMS ‘EuroConvert’ service, which will be further enhanced in the near future, go mobile has also added informative EURO content on its TV on your mobile service. Four new Video Clips are now available FREE OF CHARGE from the content portfolio, for go mobile subscribers in possession of a streaming capable handset.

The NECC (National Euro Changeover Committee) supports such initiatives as part of its plans to assure a smooth changeover for all, media and public relations manager Melvyn Mangion said. “We in fact encourage people to make use of as such services.”
