Birdlife Malta’s new IT systems
BirdLife Malta has welcomed a sponsorship agreement with Microsoft as part of the leading IT company’s corporate social responsibility activities. Microsoft support has helped BirdLife Malta change its entire IT system.

Microsoft has provided Windows XP Operating Systems and MS Office Professional systems to equip the new network at the BirdLife office in Ta’ Xbiex. The network and technology is helping BirdLife to collect essential data that will lead directly to targeted and effective conservation initiatives.

The much needed support from Microsoft will also allow BirdLife Malta to manage the technology supported projects, such as satellite monitoring of seabird species and digital mapping of new conservation projects. These projects will act as a blueprint for environmental management for all the Special Protected Areas (SPAs) listed in Malta.
