Air Malta employees support ‘Dar tal-Providenza’
Air Malta chief executive officer Joe Cappello presented a cheque for over Lm6,000 to the director of the Dar tal-Providenza, Mgr Lawrence Gatt, collected from a number of Air Malta employees who during 2006 donated money from their salary, with the company matching the employees’ contribution. The company’s support forms part of Air Malta’s social responsibility programme for the community.

Speaking during a short presentation Mr Cappello said: “Air Malta has always been at the forefront of humanitarian and philanthropic support and notwithstanding the significant challenges we are facing, the airline has never turned a blind eye to help organisations such as the Dar Tal-Providenza in achieving their far reaching goals. Through our “Committed to the Community” programme, Air Malta wishes to express its solidarity and help for local organisations working in the humanitarian and philanthropic fields.”

Mgr Gatt said: “The Dar Tal-Providenza needs constant public support to achieve all its goals. The organisation provides a beacon of hope for people in times of hardship. We thank organisations such as Air Malta who through their generosity help us make our work a bit easier.”
