Low-cost Catalan airline coming to Malta
Clickair, the Catalan low-cost airline, will be flying to Malta in the coming months, the airline has announced.

Malta features among the 22 new destinations that will be offered to customers flying out from the El Prat airport in Barcelona.

The airline was set up last May with 20 per cent of its capital held by Iberia, the Spanish national airline. At the time, the low-cost airline had stated its ambitions were to reach the target of carrying 300,000 passengers with five planes in 2006 rising to 10 million passengers, 30 planes and more than 70 destinations by 2008.

The airline has also announced it will start

flying to Casablanca and Marrakesh in April, the first low cost flights to North Africa from a Spanish airport.

Apart from flying to Malta, the airline will also be flying to Tunis, Moscow, Helsinki, Vienna, Budapest, Warsaw and Dubrovnik and to the Italian cities of Palermo, Venice, Verona, Naples and Rome.

The airline will in all be flying to 24 new destinations: 20 international and four internal.
