The 14th Air Malta Inter-national Travel Exhibition (AMITEX) held last weekend at the Trade Fair grounds in Naxxar attracted around 27,000 visitors. The fair saw the participation of 34 local and 20 foreign exhibitors who, over the four days of the fair, presented travel opportunities for next summer to the Maltese public.
During AMITEX, Air Malta chairman Lawrence Zammit, chief executive officer Joe Cappello and other Air Malta senior officials toured the stands and exchanged views with the local and foreign travel exhibitors, as well as with the general public.
Commenting on this year’s AMITEX, Mr Cappello said: “AMITEX has once again been a success. In terms of attendance, our forecasts have been reached. Our latest special offers, our summer schedule and flyaway tours offers have been well received by the public. Moreover the exhibitors have expressed satisfaction with the turnout and were pleased with the demand by the public for their services and products on offer.
“AMITEX is the only travel fair that provides a showcase for the local and foreign travel industry to present its services and travel options to the travelling public in Malta. This event is also a priority for travel agents as it is used for networking between the suppliers of travel services” he added.
“We wish to thank the public who supported this event as well as our partners who exhibited and placed their trust in AMITEX. The organisation of AMITEX is yet another demonstration of Air Malta’s commitment to the local tourism industry and our Maltese community,” Mr Cappello concluded.
