Table-Tennis: Edwin Cotter, Australian Junior No 4 to coach during Summer School
The Table Tennis Academy has just terminated the second part of its coaching and participation phase for 2007 / 2008 and is now rigorously preparing the Intensive Summer School schedule.

Huge interest was shown last year and therefore the Academy has taken the initiative to engage Edwin Cotter who is one of Australia 's best Junior players to coach during the summer programme also assisted by Harald Werner from Austria . This should be one of the best programmes ever and sessions will be held daily in the mornings and afternoon.

There will be one programme for absolute beginners to the game of Table Tennis and also sessions for Advanced and four star categories. Due to heavy demand in the past two years potential children and their parents are asked to book early to make sure that children are allocated in the right programme.

This season has seen an upsurge in the number of students attending at the Academy with an overall increase of 35% new students attending.

The participation of Daniel Vella, Steve Bugeja, Daniel Portelli, Dario Portelli, James Dawson and Marcus Portelli from the Academy in the International Schools Federation Competition gave new impetus to the Academy students.

This year saw the introduction of the Doubles Ranking tournament and the Davis Cup team tournament with the eventual winners being TT Devils Team Steve Bugeja and Marcus Portelli close in second place came TT Tibhar Team James Dawson and Massimo Anastasi. The Powerade KO competition and fifth ranking are next to come.

Daniel Vella is still leading the Academy ranking with 913 points and in the Doubles Ranking Steve Bugeja and Marcus Portelli lead the way.

Academy coach Edward Baldacchino has just triumphed in the recent senior national championships beating ex champion Mario Genovese 4-3 in an incredible one hour 20 minute match. Both are Executive Head coaches at the Academy. The academy can be contacted on info@tabletennisacademy.com or by visiting www.tabletennisacademy.com or on 79591799 / 79288297
