Planes will fly from Inverness to European destinations, including Spain, Majorca, Malta and Italy next summer, it was confirmed last week.

Two holiday companies have revealed their programme of European charters from the Highland airport for summer 2009.

Thomson Holidays will operate flights to Spain’s Costa Dorada and Majorca on Saturdays from 27 June to 8 August, during the summer school holidays.

Newmarket’s programme includes holidays to Malta and Madeira, Italy, Austria and Switzerland between March and October.
