A successful performing tour in Ireland by Hotel Phoenicia’s resident solo guitarist, Mro Tony Pace, served as a stepping stone for him to be engaged for further performances in that country.
Mro Pace, who has been playing at the Hotel Phoenicia for the past 15 years, was the personal guest of Mr Ray Byrne, owner of Wineport Lodge in Ireland and one of the new faces on the ownership team along with a group of Irish Hotel investors at Hotel Phoenicia.
“Having heard Tony play so beautifully in the Hotel Phoenicia, we were really honoured when he accepted our invitation to visit Ireland and play for us”, said Mr Byrne.
In Ireland, Tony played at Hotel Phoenicia’s sister hotels, the Wineport Lodge, the Ice House and Lisloughrey Lodge, where guests were entertained to a variety of classical tunes, Mediterranean music, Maltese folklore music, soft jazz, Latin American and all time rock hits.
He also played on the main stage at ‘The Wedding and Honeymoon’ show which was held in Dublin at the end of last month as well as during the filming of Ireland’s most popular TV cookery show “The Restaurant”, filmed at Wineport Lodge.
Ray Byrne, who described Mro Pace as a world class musician and a great ambassador for Malta said: “I expect Tony’s visit to Ireland to be the first of many, and I look forward to my next visit to Malta and to hear Tony play once again at the Phoenicia”.
