The AFM Maritime Squadron’s P-52 patrol vessel on Monday night intercepted a Spanish fishing boat which was fishing illegally.

The Protector-class patrol vessel located the fishing boat in a position some 22 nautical miles south-south-east of Malta.

The Maritime Squadron personnel instructed the crew to pick-up their prawn fishing-traps, and then together steamed to Grand Harbour for the fisheries authorities and the police to conduct their investigations.
