Hamrun Spartans FC Youth Nursery have taken part in the Welsh International Super Cup 2009 which has been held in Aberystwyth.

This will be the second time that the Hamrun Nursery is participating in this tournament, the first time being in 2006. For this year’s edition, the Nursery will participate with boys from the 1999 and 1998 categories.

The group, which is made up of 13 boys, three officials and seven parents, left Maltayesterday week and returned home yesterday. The training kit has been sponsored by Sports Experience.

The tournament, which has been organised by Team Tours Direct since 2007, will be celebrating the 25th anniversary this year.

Football icons such as Ian Rush, Andriv Shevchenko, Steven Gerrard, Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, Shay Given and Thomas Rosicky have adorned the all star graduate list from the summer showpiece in Aberystwyth these past 24 years.

The Hamrun Nursery is sure that this will be a wonderful experience for the young players.
