Imported used vehicles must be registered within 15 days
Used vehicles imported from abroad must be registered within 15 days, the Malta Transport Authority announced yesterday.

Any resident of Malta who has imported a used vehicle from abroad and has not yet registered it must do so by 30 September, 2009.

After this date, an administrative charge of e30 per day, including weekends, will be charged to motorists who fail to register their imported, used vehicle within 15 days of the vehicle’s arrival in Malta, in accordance with Legal Notice 198/2009 published this year.

The public is reminded that no vehicles, bearing foreign registration plates, may be driven on Maltese roads by Maltese residents.

Persons who have imported vehicles which have not been yet registered with the authority are encouraged to do so at their earliest convenience to avoid unnecessary charges.
