Local Football: Under 21 side in Slovenia for UEFA Championship qualifier
The Under 21 has travelled to Slovenia for its fifth encounter in Group 8 of the UEFA Under-21 Championship Qualifying Group. The match is to be played tomorrow in Nova Gorica.

Coach Edwin Camilleri and his assistant Emanuel Farrugia listed the following 18-man squad as fit for the match after not less than five players were carrying injuries sustained in last weekend’s competitive matches. Warren Chircop will miss this match through suspension.

Back in March, Malta lost to Slovenia 0-2 at the Hibernians Stadium in a spirited match which saw our young team lose undeservedly when for most of the match it was the local side which dictated play.

The squad:

Goalkeepers: Henry Bonello - Vittoriosa FC, Nicholas George Vella - Valletta FC.

Defenders: Adrian Borg - Mosta FC, Steve Borg - Valletta FC, Ryan Camilleri - Hibernians FC, Tyron Farrugia - Msida SJ FC, Clifford Gatt Baldacchino - Sliema Wanderers FC, George Gribbon - Melita FC.

Midfielders: Richard Chetcuti - Warrington FC, Beppe Muscat - Vittoriosa FC, Mark Scerri - Sliema Wanderers FC, Joseph Zerafa - Birkirkara FC, Dylan Grima - Valletta FC, Nigel Rizzo - Melita FC.

Strikers: Terence Vella - Mosta FC, Miguel Ciantar - Sliema Wanderers FC, Julian Galea - Melita FC, Kane Micallef - Melita FC.
