Conventional Pistol schedule for 2009 continues
by Clive Brockdorff

The Malta Rifle and Pistol Shooting Club’s sixth “Conventional Pistol” event of the 2009 season took place recently.

There was a good turnout for the event during which good results were obtained, and as with all other MRPCS events, this match followed the rules laid down by the national Rifle Association of the USA with which the MRPSC is affiliated and whose rules are followed by shooting sportsmen worldwide.

Shooting distances were from 15 and 25 metres in the centrefire (9 x 19 mm or .38 special calibre) discipline using both pistols and revolvers. Top end results were as follows:

First place: Anthony Mifsud (247 points)

Second place: Clive Brockdorff (221 points)

Third place: John Vincenti (200 points)

Fourth place: Philip Grech (198 points)

The Malta Rifle and Pistol Shooting Club (MRPSC) currently has over 500 members and forms part of the Association of Maltese Arms Collectors and Shooters (AMACS).

The Association is authorised to prepare prospective target shooters to apply for a licence which will enable them to practice this fast-growing, highly enjoyable sport.

Further information about this and future events may be obtained from info@amacs-malta.org or by visiting their website at www.amacs-malta.org
