A 31-year-old Briton yesterday admitted he used a stolen credit card, defrauding a woman and HSBC Bank of E246. Jamie Paul Day pleaded guilty to using Irina Lyakhteynen’s credit card to buy everyday items from St Julian’s on 4 November. He was given a three-year probation order, a three-year treatment order for his alcohol problem, and was ordered to pay back the E246. The court was presided over by Magistrate Anthony Vella. Police Inspector Trevor Micallef prosecuted and Dr Mark Busuttil appeared for the accused.
