Siggiewi-Marsa 0-4
Siggiewi were close early on through Alan Cacciattolo with Marsa replying in the 11th minute as Aaron Chetcuti headed just wide from close-range. Two minutes later Marsa goalkeeper Demis Grima brought off a difficult save off a point-blank shot by Jason Camilleri.
After 32 minutes, Siggiewi’s captain Pierre Spiteri had a header which was cleared off the goal line and two minutes before the end of the first half, Marsa’s striker Aaron Chetcuti missed a sitter shooting high when all alone infront of Vella.
Marsa opened the score eight minutes after the break through a low shot by Philip Chircop in a swift counter-attack.
A minute later Marsa doubled their lead with Aaron Chetcuti lobbing the ball over Vella. Before the end they added further goals through Johan Camilleri and substitute Shaun Farrugia.
This important win has put Marsa on equal points with Mdina Knights at the top of the league standings, with Mdina however having a game in hand.

Mdina K- Mgarr U 2-0
Both teams created a number of goal scoring opportunities during the first-half.
Mdina missed a clear opportunity early on through Matthew Francalanza and then his twin striker Ayrton Buhagiar twice concluded just wide.
At the other end, Sirens were twice denied certain goals by Knights’ custodian Jonathan Vella off attempts by Johan Said and Matthew Muscat with Mdina responding through a point-blank effort by Clint Caruana which was blocked by the advancing Carbonaro.
In the 24th minute Mdina missed a sitter through Francalanza but seven minutes later they took a deserved lead with Adrian Galea shooting in past Carbonaro.
Mgarr came back through James Borg whose cross-shot was saved with difficulty by Vella.
After play was resumed, Mgarr pushed forward and were close through Matthew Muscat and Chris Abela.
In a swift counter-attack, in the 67th minute Mdina were very close to increasing their lead through Matthew Francalanza.
Mgarr suffered a setback in the 74th minute when their substitute Mark Abela was sent off for retaliation.
Two minutes later Mdina sealed the issue with a second goal scored by Matthew Francalanza.

Mtarfa-Kalkara 2-1
Kalkara had a strong start and after going close through Nicholas Gatt, they were then unlucky as a shot by Kevin Tonna hit the crossbar.
Mtarfa forged ahead on nine minutes through a goal scored by Omar Smeir. Kalkara’s reaction failed to produce any dangerous opportunities with Mtarfa having an attempt by Giorgio Cumbo which was cleared off the goal line.
Kalkara squandered good opportunities through Kevin Tonna and Johan Tonna but two minutes before the break they drew level with Kevin Tonna beating Mark Abela with an angled shot.
During the second half Kalkara gained the initiative and after eight minutes they missed a clear opportunity through Matthew Cassar.
Kalkara went close through a headed attempt by Nicholas Gatt which was cleared off the goal line.
In the 77th minute Mtarfa’s midfield player Giorgio Cumbo hit just high from close-range but two minutes later they managed to score the all-important goal through Omar Smeir following good work by Warren Grima. In his celebrations, Smeir kicked the corner flag, was booked for a second time and was sent off.

Fgura U-Luqa SA 0-1
Fgura United gained the initiative during the first half and early on attempts by Ivan Pace and Rodney Galea were saved by Paul Psaila.
At the other end Luqa were close through Christian Caruana with Fgura being very unlucky in the 15th minute when a strong shot by Glen Azzopardi Busuttil hit the crossbar.
Just before the break Glen Azzopardi Busuttil was once again close for Fgura with a shot which finished just wide of the far post.
After the interval, play was quite balanced with Luqa going close through Lee Baldacchino and Colin Gatt with Fgura having a shot by Matthew Spiteri which was cleared off the goal line by Mark Said.
Luqa got the all-important goal on the 83rd minute with player coach Malcolm Tirchett heading in past Jesmond Lia from a Clive Psaila free-kick. On the 90th minute Fgura were unlucky with Rodney Galea hitting the post with a close-range effort.

Gudja U-St Lucia 0-0
Gudja United did most of the attacking during the first half and early on a Chris Grech header finished just wide.
The Saints were close through Quinton Mercieca whose shot was saved by Matthew Xerxen with Gudja replying through a shot by John Schembri and an Emerson Vella corner-kick which were both saved with difficulty by the Saints’ debutant goalkeeper Ludvic Fardell, ex-Zejtun Corinthians.
On another occasion an Emerson Vella corner-kick was headed just wide by John Schembri.
After the change of ends, Gudja sustained the pressure and after just four minutes they were denied by Fardell off a point-blank effort by Liam Cutajar.
On the 51st minute the Saints had their best chance to open the score as an angled shot by Hubert Friggieri was saved with difficulty by Matthew Xerxen.
At the other end Gudja were very unlucky when an Aldrin Muscat header bounced off the upright.
At the other end Sta Lucia were twice close through attempts by Antoine Sapiano and Quinton Mercieca. Just before the final whistle Gudja had a shot by Elvin Gauci which just missed the target.

Sirens-Zejtun C 1-4
Zejtun opened the score after just two minutes through Kenneth Abela following good work by Edward Azzopardi and in the eighth minute a conclusion by Gary Busuttil just missed the target.
Sirens responded through a Stefan Azzopardi free-kick which was saved by Ruben Grech. On the 27th minute Sirens’ striker Glenn Gatt shot low from close range with Grech bringing off a fine save.
Then Gary Busuttil hit just wide but three minutes before the break Zejtun increased their lead through an Edward Azzopardi free-kick.
Zejtun maintained the initiative throughout the second period going close early on through Karl Vassallo and Andy Portelli.
In the 66th minute, Zejtun scored their third goal through Carmel Formosa from a cross by Karl Vassallo.
Sirens reduced the arrears on the 75th minute through a penalty converted by Ryan Theuma.
Late in the match Charlo Magro went close for the Corinthians who are now joint leaders with Gudja United. Sirens hit a post through a Kristian Galea and in added time Zejtun scored a fourth goal through Kenneth Abela.

Naxxar L-Kirkop U 5-1
Naxxar had a strong start and opened the score in the fifth minute through a low shot by Darren Falzon.
Then Falzon was denied by Stephen Mizzi following good work by Andrea Farrugia but on 16 minutes Naxxar increased their lead through Mario Debono.
Kirkop reacted and reduced the arrears five minutes later through a beautiful volley by Hubert Farrugia.
Naxxar made it 3-1 in the 44th minute through a penalty given for a foul on Glen Magri and converted by Darren Falzon.
In added time Naxxar hit the post off a shot by Gilbert Camilleri. The Lions sustained their dominance after the change of ends and on 56 minutes they scored a fourth goal through a lob by substitute Kurt Bartolo. They made it a final 5-1 in the 70th minute through a low shot by substitute Andrea Del Negro.
Late in the match Kirkop hit the post through Michael Theuma.

Qrendi-Attard 1-2
Qrendi dictated the proceedings during the first half with Jean Pierre Abdilla heading just wide from a cross by Alex Abdilla.
Then attempts by Ian Darmanin and Jean Pierre Abdilla were saved with difficulty by the Attard custodian Tyron Spiteri with Attard replying through Josef Axisa whose attempt was saved by Anton Falzon.
Qrendi opened the score in the 34th minute with Jean Pierre Abdilla heading in past Spiteri from a cross by Martin Briffa.
Just before the break Attard gained a free-kick which was taken by Kurt Zahra but Mark Saliba headed just wide.
Two minutes into the second period Attard made it one-all through Mark Saliba after a shot by Jonathan Saliba had been blocked on the goal line.
Qrendi’s response produced an angled shot by Jean Pierre Abdilla which just missed the target.
In the 62nd minute Attard scored their winner with Kurt Zahra beating Falzon with an excellent dipper.
Qrendi were close to an equaliser late in the match through Sam Vella and Matthew Genuis.
