President and Mrs George Abela are in London where, as chairperson and deputy chairperson of the Malta Community Chest Fund, they will be visiting Maltese patients recovering in UK hospitals.

The MCCF helps the community in various ways, including financial assistance to those needing to accompany Maltese convaslescing abroad, and others needing medicine for serious medical conditions. The MCCF raises its funds through contributions, mainly from the L-iStrina activity, being held this year on 26 December at the Lufthansa Teknik hangar.
