Medavia plane hit during clashes at Tripoli airport

A Maltese-registered aircraft belonging to the Maltese-Libyan airline Medavia was reportedly damaged during the current unrest at Tripoli airport.

The aircraft was hit late yesterday along other aircraft damaged by bullets and shrapnel.

Air Malta suspended flights to Tripoli on Sunday.

It is also has been reported that the Libyan government is considering calling for international forces to help re-establish security after deadly clashes closed Tripoli airport, severing air links with the outside world.
