Last night SmartCity Malta inaugurated the second phase of the project’s development: Laguna Walk, Malta’s definitive entertainment destination. The inauguration ceremony was presided by Prime Minister, Joseph Muscat, who wasaccompanied by the CEO of SmartCity Dubai, Abdullatif AlMulla and the CEO of SmartCity Malta, Anthony P. Tabone.
Following the unveiling of the Laguna Walk inauguration plaque, a spectacular show ensued. The spectacle consisted of synchronized fireworks with the magnificent animated fountain, and a dramatic dance by Moveo Dance Company.The dance played on the elements of fire and water, conveying both the ebullience and peaceful scenery of the latest dynamic events hub in the south of Malta. After the show, the attendees enjoyed a lovely reception whilst delighting in the breathtaking scenery of the expansive lagoon and sea.
The first of its kind on the islands, Laguna Walk at SmartCity Malta offers a dynamic venue for various events with its spectacularly choreographed fountains, beautiful promenade, grand steps and scenic terraced rooftops overlooking the lagoon. In addition, the open-air amphitheatre, which will continue to host a number of attractions, and the terraced seating all enjoy breathtaking views of the infinity lagoon and the azure Mediterranean sea. Laguna Walk also offers a selection of indoor and outdoor dining experiences with food and beverages outlets including business partners such as Wejla by Tartarun, Chocafé, The Londoner Pub, Melita Steakhouse, Da Vinci, Bistro Ten-O-One and Incredible Asia who offer a variety of cuisines to tempt every palate.
Speaking at the launch, CEO of SmartCity Malta, Anthony P. Tabone said “Laguna Walk brings the business community to life with lush seaside, and food and beverage outlets located in Malta’s first lagoon district. It provides a great outdoors environment and is an ideal location for events to be enjoyed by the public. Following a number of successful events including Family Fun Weekends, the Malta Fashion Awards, a tribute concert to The Beatles and a World Cup Village, the new leisure venue is proving to be much sought-after by the Maltese public.
