The Santa Marija Maddalena chapel at Dingli Cliffs was heavily damaged after it was hit by lightning last night.
The facade of the chapel has been damaged and stone slabs have been broken.
The ceiling, the walls and the painting of the saint have also been damaged.
It is the second time that the chapel was hit by lightning. The first occasion was in 1936.
