A cyclist was seriously injured this morning when he was hit by a car in St Thomas Road, Birzebbuga, the police said.

The accident happened at 10.30am and involved a Smart car driven by a 45-year-old.

The 79-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital where he was found to have suffered serious injured but is not in critical condition.
