Nationalist MP Claudio Grech has said he will file a libel suit against Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and the Labour Party newspaper Kulhadd following claims that he tried to silence a whistleblower.

Kulhadd this morning reported untruths which were repeated word for word by the PM, Mr Grech said in a statement, and he had no other option but to take legal action.

“It is a lie that I tried to silence a whitleblower,” Mr Grech said. “I have always encourage anyone who has information about irregularities to go directly to the police.”
