Tuesday, 21 February 2017, 14:49 Last update: about 8 years ago

The inquiry report involving Nationalist Party deputy leader Beppe Fenech Adami has been submitted to the Prime Minister, but it will not be published yet, the OPM said today.

The inquiry was set set up to investigate why police failed to pursue an investigation into money laundering by an international firm, CapitalOne, when the name of one of its then directors, Beppe Fenech Adami, cropped up.

The report was initially scheduled to be finalised by 16 January, but the board of inquiry comprising udges J D Camilleri, Lawrence Quintano and Philip Sciberras asked for a one-month extension.

The OPM said that since the investigation affected important institutions in the country, it will be analysed before it is published. The OPM did not say whether parts of the report will be redacted, or when the report will be published.
