Prime Minister holds meeting with Milan Chamber of Commerce

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat held a meeting with Chamber of Commerce for Milan, Monza and Brianza.

A number of businesses from the Lombardy region were present, and opportunities in Malta as a business destination were discussed, a government statement read.

The Prime Minister said that Malta has one of the highest economic growth rates in the EU, that is above 6%.

HE explained how Malta managed a surplus over the past year, and that there are record amounts of people in work, and record unemployment level lows.

He mentioned that Malta’s manufacturing and financial services sector are strong, and that Malta is attracting Asian, American and Middle Eastern investment 

Malta Enterprise Chairman Mario Galea and Finance Malta Chairman Kenneth Farrugia also spoke.

The Prime Minister had also, earlier in the day, visited the Bank of Valletta office in Milan, where he was told about the work to promote Malta. The office has existed for 25 years.
