Both Britain and Malta want a constructive approach in Brexit negotiations, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and British Secretary for State for Exiting the European Union David Davies said today during a meeting.
The media was invited to cover the introductory remarks.
Prime Minister Muscat said that Malta wants a common sense approach, in order to find a good solution to Brexit while also defending and adhering to EU principles.
Davies stressed that Britain is leaving the EU, not Europe.
He acknowledged that the process can be tense, as negotiations always are, but said that they are seeking an outcome in everyone’s interests.
He stressed that the UK takes its responsibility as a global citizen seriously.
