The Malta Cycling Federation time trial national championship started on Saturday 21 April 2018 with the race held at Mriehel By-pass.
Alexander Pettett Pro Action - CT Volata made his eight laps in 28:02:53. Behind him ended respectively William Hili of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC in 28:16.82 and Christian Formosa of The Cyclists in 28:27.33.
Marie Claire Aquilina of Team Greens finished first in the Women's category when it made its eight laps in 31: 58.67. She was followed by teammate Michelle Vella Wood in 33: 10.31 and Lara Buttigieg of Agones SFC finish in third reposition in 34: 02:47.
The Masters 40+ category was won by Fabio Spiteri of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC in 28: 55.88. Ivan Zammit of Birkirkara St. Joseph SC ends up second in 30:09:22, while Kevin Muscat of Qormi CC came third in a time of 30:19.73.
The Masters 50+ category saw a complete success from Mosta AF Sign Studio cyclists which ended in the first three places. Steve Mifsud finished first in 31:16.03. Behind him came Mark Schembri and Michael Lia respective times of 31:41.91 and 32:34.47.
Isaac Spiteri of The Cyclists won the Juniors category in 32:59.32. Behind him came Gianluca Camilleri of Birkirkara St. Joseph SC 36:34.26 and Nicholas Vella of Agones SFC 41:43.38.
The Under-16 category was won by Malcolm Vassallo of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC in 24:05:45. Behind him came two other cyclists of the same club, Nicholas Micallef and Sean Enriquez respectively in 24:13.38 and 25:29.24.
The Under-14 category was won by Kristina Spiteri of The Cyclists who did her four laps in 17:25.28. Behind her ended two cyclists of Mosta AF Sign Studio CC, Justine De Giorgio and Valentina Soler respectively in 18:33.94 and 21:43.39.
The Boys Under 12 category was won by Miguel Galea of Team Greens time in 04:05:00. He was followed by cyclists of Mosta AF Sign Studio Jonas Micallef, Adam Camilleri and Luca Teuma, all came at the same time of 05:05:00.
The Girls Under 12 category was won by Martina Darmanin Tedesco of Mosta AF Sign Studio in 05:26.00. Behind her ended Loralie Zammit time in 05:30.00.
At the end of the races, the members of the Federation Council of the Malta Cycling, Edward Enriquez and Euchar Camilleri made the medals presentations to the winners.
The next race will be on Sunday 13 May 2018, that will be the first of the Road Race Championship at Penellu, Mellieha.
