On the very same day that Parliament in Malta approved the new gaming law, the International Monetary Fund lauded Malta's work in the gaming sector and labelled it as exceptional.

IMF complimented Malta not only for its unique hub for digital gaming companies but also for its pro-business approach.

IMF commented also upon the commitment Malta is showing in strengthening this sector by the betterment of existing legislation that regulates this sector and by implementing the EU Anti-Money Laundering directive.

The changes in the legislation approved by Parliament will assure that the gaming industry will be led in a responsible, just and free manner and away from any criminal activities. In this way a safe environment for the general public is assured as this sector is an important source of funds and jobs.

With the help of this law, government will see that the Malta Gaming Authority, as the regulator of the gaming industry, has all the resources to carry on its work effectively. It will ultimately lead in further protection to customers and will base its work on concrete evidence.
