Updated: Godfrey Farrugia gets death threat, PN condemns incident

Monday, 30 July 2018, 10:02 Last update: about 7 years ago

Partit Demokratiku MP Godfrey Farrugia has received a death threat from someone who claims to be a supporter of Nationalist Party leader Adrian Delia.

In the letter, which Farrugia posted on Facebook, it is said that unless he and his partner Marlene Farrugia stop undermining Delia in favour of Simon Busuttil, then he will end up like Daphne Caruana Galizia.

The journalist was killed with a car bomb last October.

The Malta Independent will not be reproducing the letter because of the bad language it contains.

A report has been filed with the police.

The Nationalist Party has condemned the incident.

Godfrey Farrugia and his partner Marlene, both representing the PD in Parliament, have expressed themselves in support of Simon Busuttil. Delia has requested Busuttil to suspend himself from the parliamentary group after the conclusions of the Egrant inquiry were made public.
