A priest with a gambling problem spent €900,000 he collected by parishioners on slot machines, Italian media report.

The priest led a parish in the north part of Italy between 2007 and 2017 before being transferred.

Requesting financial help for the poor, the priest collected €900,000 which were however used to gamble.

Italian media report that the parishioners are demanding their money back.
