The feast of St Anthony the Abbot was celebrated today in Xaghra Gozo at the chapel in his name. This chapel was given the title of parish by Arcbishop Davide Coocopalmieri over 400 years ago on 28th April 1688.

Bishop Mario Grech concelebrated mass with Archpriest Mgr Carmelo Refalo together with Fr Michael Galea, the new rector of St Anthony, Fr John Bartolo and Fr Anthony Bajada.

Mgr Carmelo Refalo blessed the horses while this evening Bishop Mario Grech will be blessing the pets brought to St Anthony by the small children.
