One of the two men who was injured in a fire in Wied Qirda a few days ago has died in hospital.

The man, Joseph Attard, 58, was seriously hurt in a fire that broke out near a fireworks factory in Zebbug.

On the day of the incident, on 26 January, the police had said that the fire developed as the men were trying to destroy unwanted material from the fireworks factory.

Attard died in hospital this morning.

The other man, aged 28, is still being treated at Mater Dei Hospital.
