A Maltese construction worker was hospitalised earlier today after he fell from a height while working at a construction site in St Julian’s.

The accident took place near the Westin Dragonara Hotel, at around 1.15pm

The man, 63, from Safi, fell from a height of around eight courses (filati), the police said.

He was lifted out of the construction site on a stretcher by members of the Civil Protection Department.

The man was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.

The police later said his injuries were grievous.
