The PN'S Solidarity with Workers Group unsatisfactorily took note that Maltese workers saw the least increase in wages in the EU last year.

This statistic, they said, is evident from EU statistics which are based on information sent by the government.

"It is ironic how Maltese workers who are contributing to the economy in order for it to grow are not taking the fruits of their labour."

Maltese workers had just a €2.75 per week rise, the group said.

The Group highlighted the low amounts of wage increases given over the past years:

2017 - €1.75

2016 - €1.75

2015 - €0.58

2014 - €3.49

2013- (increase by PN)- €4.08

2012 -(increase by PN)- €4.66

The group said that no government minister quoted this statistic.
