A worker was injured this afternoon after a wall collapsed on him while he was working in a construction site in Tal-Ibrag.

The worker, a Senegalese aged 24 who resides in Birzebbuga, was taken to hospital for treatment.

Present on site were inspectors from the Occupational Health and Safety Authority who are conducting an investigation.

The accident took place in Vidal Street at 1.30pm.

The injured worker was given first assistance by members of the Civil Protection Department before he was transferred to hospital.
