A biker died ths morning when he lost control of the motorcycle he was riding and crashed into a parked truck.

The accident took place in Valley Road, Birkirkara, at 4am, the police said.

The biker, Mark Bishop, a Maltese man who lives in Gozo, aged 41, was riding a Honda CB500FA. He is the father of two boys.

A medical team from Mater Dei was called for assistance and certified the man dead on site.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia is conducting an inquiry.
