PN calls on government to tell the truth about Neville Gafa’s presence in Libya

In a statement on Tuesday, the Nationalist Party called for the Government to publicly declare the reason behind Neville Gafa’s presence at a diplomatic meeting with Libyan officials.

Referring to the Government’s lack of explanation with regards to Gafa’s presence, the Nationalist Party said that “in light of the importance that our country always gave the diplomatic relations with Libya, and the work done from every Government, the PN sees this as incorrect behavior”.

“The Maltese people have the right to know the reason that Neville Gafa, who was fired by Deputy Prime Minister Chris Fearne, was accompanying our ambassador Charles Saliba.”

Since in every democracy the Government has to be transparent and explain, the Nationalist Party called for an immediate public declaration explaining his presence.

“It is not right that the diplomatic relations with Libya are stained due to incorrect behaviour.”
