Former Nationalist Party MP Louis Refalo has passed away, the party said in a statement saluting his memory.  He passed away at the age of 69.

The party said that Refalo will be remembered as a humble gentleman always ready to serve with a smile.

The party said in a statement that Refalo, known to many as  'il qaddis', had worked tirelessly for the best interests of Gozo and Gozitans.

Refalo served as a PN MP between 1981 and 1996 and had followed the footsteps of his father, Carmelo Refalo, who had also been a PN MP.

Refalo had also worked as a Director of the Sea Malta and of the Malta Freeport.
The PN relayed its deep condolences to his wife, children, family and relatives.
