A man and two children were hit by a car in Lija, the police said today.

The accident happened in Mosta Road at 4pm.

The three were hit by a BMW driven by a 20-year-old man.

They were taken to hospital for treatment, with the man, aged 47 and resident in Gzira, reported to be suffering serious injuries while the two boys, aged 10, were slightly hurt.

Magistrate M. Vella is leading an inquiry.
