An 81-year-old man was found dead on a street in Blata l-Bajda, the police said.

The discovery was made in Triq Nazzjonali, at around 4.05pm.

The man is a resident of Floriana. Personnel from the Floriana health centre were called to the scene but the man was pronounced dead on site. The cause of death is not yet known.

Magistrate Audrey Demicoli has launched an inquiry. The police are also investigating.
