An elderly biker was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Zurrieq on Wednesday, the police said.

The accident took place on Valletta Road at 11.30pm.

The collision involved a Tatamobile 207, which was being driven by a 73-year-old man residing in Żurrieq, and the biker.

The motorcyclist, a 63-year-old man from Żabbar, was taken to hospital for treatment.
