A teenager was seriously injured when he ended up beneath the car he was driving after it hit the wall of the Kirkop tunnel, the police said.
The accident took place on Wednesday at 7.20pm.
The 18-year-old Zurrieq man lost control of the vehicle he was driving and hit the wall. With the impact, the driver’s door opened and the young man ended up beneath the vehicle.
A 17-year-old boy who was in the car as a passenger escaped unhurt.
Civil Protection Department officers were on site to release the driver. He was later taken to hospital.
