A 22-year-old has suffered grievous injuries after the driver of the vehicle lost control and crashed, a police statement read.

The accident took place on Triq Delimara in Marsaxlokk at 5pm. A 36-year-old man from Kalkara was driving a Chevrolet Matiz and lost control, with the car flipping over. The 22-year-old man from Tarxien was a passenger.

The 22-year-old was taken to Mater Dei Hospital.

Investigations are ongoing.
