Ministers present parts of Egrant report in court – PN

The Nationalist Party today said that three ministers had presented parts of the Egrant report in court when, according to the government and the Attorney General, they are not part of the restricted group which has access to it.

In a statement, the PN said that ministers Chris Cardona, Konrad Mizzi and Edward Scicluna presented parts of the report as part of proceedings in the case instituted by the Opposition Leader Adrian Delia.

Delia is demanding that he is given the complete report, claiming that it is politically disadvantageous that the government has a copy, and the opposition does not.

“Somebody is not saying the truth,” the PN said - Cardona, Mizzi and Scicluna presented excerpts from the report when they should not be privy to it.

The Egrant report was compiled by then magistrate Aaron Bugeja in the wake of accusations that the Prime Minister’s family had opened a company in Panama. The conclusions of the report – the only part of it that was published – show that no evidence was found to this effect.
