Two men injured, one of them seriously, in Birkirkara crash

Two men were injured, one of them seriously, in a car crash in Birkirkara on Monday evening.

The accident took place on the Birkirkara by-pass, corner with Tumas Fenech Street, at 9.20pm, the police said.

The crash involved a Renault Clio driven by a 25-year-old man of Birzebbuga and a Smart Fortwo driven by a 26-year-old man of Birkirkara, who had a 46-year-old man, also of Birkirkara, riding as a passenger.


The two men in the Smart were taken to hospital, with the 46-year-old suffering grievous injuries while the other was slightly hurt. The other driver was not injured.

Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit is leading an inquiry.
