The Drugs Squad has broken up a drug ring following observations that led to the arrest of a 22-year-old man from Tarxien and a 23-year-old woman from Cospicua.

During a search of a vehicle the man was driving and a garage in Xgħajra being used by him, the police found various packets of cannabis ready to be trafficked.

A 23-year-old woman from Cospicua is also being held by the police so as to assist them in their investigations.

Duty Magistrate Doreen Clarke is leading an inquiry and appointed a number of experts pt assist.

The man is expected to arraigned and accused amongst other things, of possession of cannabis not for his exclusive use.  The police said that it cannot be excluded that the woman will also be arraigned on similar charges.
