Sporting a beard, PM Muscat launches strategy for Cottonera

Thursday, 7 November 2019, 16:32 Last update: about 5 months ago

In line with many men who choose to grow a beard or a moustache in November to raise awareness on prostate cancer, Prime Minister Joseph Muscat sported a beard today when he launched the government’s strategy for Cottonera.

Stubble was noticed in recent days but, today, it appears that the PM is allowing more than that as “Movember” reaches the end of the first week.

The strategy, he said at the launch, shows the government’s commitment towards the Cottonera area and its residents. The government is committed to all the country, but areas like Cottonera needed a regeneration to continue to grow.

What happened in Valletta must be repeated in Cottonera too, and the regeneration should encourage people to return to the Three Cities and not leave, he said.

He said public and private investment has taken place in Cottonera in the past years, and this has helped give the area a fresh look. One understands that there could be differences between investors and residences, but these should be considered as challenges that need to be overcome.
