The Cleansing Deparment cleared 10,200 tonnes of illegally dumped waste between January and September of this year, data tabled in Parliament shows.

The information was provided by Justice and Culture Minister Owen Bonnici in reply to a Parliamentary Question by Government Whip Byron Camilleri.

The data shows that 15,624 tonnes of illegal waste were removed in 2018. Similar amounts were removed in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017.
