Prime Minister Joseph Muscat is the problem we have in this country and he must resign today, Nationalist Party Leader Adrian Delia said today.

Delia was speaking after a Labour Party statement announced that the parliamentary group had expressed its full support to Muscat and that Chris Cardona had been reinstated as Economy Minister and Labour Party Deputy Leader.

“Muscat is only putting himself and those close to him first, and just as the Prime Minister protected Keith Schembri and Minister Konrad Mizzi, today we saw that his Cabinet has also protected Minister Chris Cardona,” Delia said.

Delia said that as long as Muscat remains Prime Minister the situation in Malta will only get worse. “Instead of listening to the people who are demanding Muscat to resign, he instead allowed a minister to remain in Cabinet, a minster that is under a magisterial inquiry,” explained Delia.

He said that the Prime Minister and his cabinet are not allowing justice to prevail and are affecting the investigation case of Daphne Caruana Galizia. He said that the Nationalist Party believes that Muscat is not in the position to continue leading the country and that he must step down immediately. “

He said that the Nationalist Party, civil society and civilians are doing their part and must continue to voice their anger. He mentioned that today there will be another national protest at 4pm at Valletta. “This is the time that Maltese and Gozitans must stick together for our country.”
