Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has no other choice other than to resign today so as to stop causing irreparable damage to the country, the Nationalist Party said on Wednesday afternoon.
The statement read that the Office of the Prime Minister confirmed (to The Malta Independent) that Muscat was communicating with 17 Black Owner Yorgen Fenech, the main principal suspect of the assassination of journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, even after he was considered to be a suspect.
“In the past days the media has also revealed that former Chief of Staff Keith Schembri was also attending Secret Service meetings and then asked to stop attending them.”
The statement highlighted that this was another confirmation that Muscat had access to important information.
The statement continued that Muscat has no other choice than to resign now to stop further damaging the country.
“Joseph Muscat’s position is no longer tenable and the country cannot stand to see its reputation worsen. Malta is not corrupt, the Maltese are not corrupt, but the government has been taken hostage by criminals.”
