A man suffered serious injuries when he was stabbed in Zebbug, Gozo, at around midnight, the police said.

The incident took place in Mungbell Street.

The 24-year-old man from Somalia, resident in Zebbug, was found by police officers with stab wounds, and a medical team was called to take him to Gozo Hospital.

He was later certified to be suffering from serious injuries.

A 23-year-old man from Somalia, also resident in Zebbug, is being held by the police for questioning.
