A 58-year-old motorcyclist was grievously injured on Saturday after a traffic accident in Xewkija, Gozo.

The accident took place in Triq l-Imgarr at around 9.30am, the police said.

The 58-year-old, from Nadur, was driving a Honda motorbike that had an impact with a Mercedes that was being driven by a 28-year-old woman, who is also from Nadur.

The man was taken to hospital by ambulance.

The police are investigating.
